Environmental Clean Up
The app is an interactive game promoting conservation developed by rangatahi (youth) of South Auckland New Zealand.
The app was developed through a programme of workshops and activities that introduce gifted learners with an interest in new media to the latest media technologies in a real-world environment.

Working in teams of five, alongside industry professionals, students drew on their own talents, and extended to learn new ones, as they collaborated to learn more about the tech opportunities, ideate, design, record, illustrate, animate, test, and build an app to be published through global stores.

The programme focused on identity, with the kaupapa of finding a local problem and helping to solve it.

The South Auckland students involved in the development of Environmental Clean Up focused on clean-up and recycling in their local environment.

This is a collaborative project between the Ministry of Education (as part of its Gifted Learning initiative), local schools and kura, and Kiwa Digital.


My Kura
